Commuting to Manila has always been a challenge for most travelers hailing from Cavite. There have been multiple efforts to address the difficulties on the road, which has recently led to the number coding plan. In addition to these campaigns, the announcement of the Manila-Cavite commuter river ferry gives hope to many. The new project is seen to help alleviate the traffic congestion in the province.
The river ferry ride shall start from Lido Beach in Noveleta to Intramuros in Manila via Pasig River. The new commute service shall begin operations in June this year and is believed to encourage many passengers to visit attractions in both Manila and Cavite, according to a report from ABS-CBN News on January 19, 2018.
“Ngayon pa lamang na nababalitaan nilang magsisimula, they’re very excited. ‘Yun naman ang habol nila eh, ‘yung comfort,” said Noveleta Mayor Dino Reyes-Chua in an interview.
The facilities of the ferry include air conditioning, toilet, wi-fi connectivity, and security cameras. The ferry is designed to comfortably fit 50-70 people. Furthermore, the fare of the commuter ferry will cost PhP 100 per way.
Though the fare of the ferry ride is relatively higher compared to the public bus fare, the ferry service is anticipated to provide the best value to travelers, especially with the 45-minute travel time.
