More than 2,000 lotto stalls and other gaming terminals were closed down by the police in CALABARZON Region last Saturday.
President Rodrigo Duterte directed the suspension of gaming schemes under the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
A sum of 2,531 gaming outlets have been shut down in the Calabarzon region, data from Police Lt. Col. Luis Maria Pascual showed.
Cavite province had the largest number of stores closed at 334 lotto outlets and 1,300 small town lottery kiosks.
Gaming outlets were also locked down closed in the provinces of Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
PRRD granted law enforcers 24 hours beginning July 27 to prevent the gaming activities operated, licensed and franchised by PCSO due to alleged “massive corruption” in the agency.
