Performers breathe passion. It is through the deep love for music that aspiring local artists can muster the strength and the will to face the hurdles in the complex industry. Sadly, with more opportunities given in the city, local artists leave their hometown to explore further growth and exposure.
This is the reason for Kapwa Music Festival. The event intends to put a spotlight on Caviteño artists and emphasize the sense of belonging and equality through music.
On its first run last September 15, the lineup featured 7 local artists hailing from different parts of the province. These performers include The Uncles, 5th String Band, MKNLYa, Handshake, Kerplunk, Paolo Days, and Shanah Leigh.
5th String Band
Main act I Belong To The Zoo played their hugot hits “Sana,” “Balang Araw,” and “Patawad, Paalam” among others. The evening ended with the captivating performances by Mayonnaise who sang their singles “Synesthesia,” “Tayo Na Lang Dalawa,” and “Jopay.”

Despite the harsh weather condition on the day of the event, the true success of the event showed in the echoing sound of the crowd jumping up and down while singing along to the artists. Music fanatics were able to watch their favorite OPM artists within a close proximity. Some even interacted with the performers and were able to snap a photo up close.
Kapwa Music Festival and GoCavite are always on the watch for the rising local artists! The province is not just a destination for historical tours and mountainous nature spots as it is also home to many talented musical performers and creative individuals.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Rogationist College as our venue partner, Herbie’s Catering as our official food sponsor, and Creative Street as our art community partner. We also owe huge thanks to Francis Wellness Center, Camella Homes, TentMaster, Forrent, One Tagaytay Hotel, Royale Parc Hotel, and Bi Kyeong Hotel.
Raffle prizes were sponsored by our good friends from View Park Hotel, Siglo Restaurant, Samgyup Sa Bahay, Hanuman bags, and Shebrews Coffee.
