At least four persons were wounded while 150 families lost their homes on Friday when a two-hour fire cleared through a sitio near Aguinaldo Highway in Silangan, Barangay Talaba VII, Bacoor.
Major Jude D. Sumeg-ang, the firefighters’ ground commander, estimated property losses to be at over P1-million.
The fire was called in at 6:20 a.m. and was reported fire out at 8:11 a.m.
Sumeg-ang informed that the fire, which started at a house where a stove was left neglected, reached the fourth alarm at 6:59 a.m.
Four persons endured minor burns and had difficulty breathing because of smoke inhalation. The names of the victims were not immediately accessible.
Sumeg-ang said the number of the razed houses and the fire victims have yet to be determined. The investigation continued until Friday afternoon.
The stretch of Talaba has had several fires throughout the years.
Friday’s fire created heavy traffic on both lanes of Aguinaldo Highway in Bacoor.
The fire victims were taken to the Talaba VII Covered Court where they will stay for the meantime, Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla told.
Personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development and Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Offices were assigned to help the victims.
