Kawit, Cavite – As part of the commemoration for Gen. Emilio Aguialdo’s 150th birth anniversary, an educational series on Cavite’s history and heritage will be launched this March 22 by Cavite Historical Society (CHS).
Said project doesn’t only intend to benefit Cavite teachers and students; it also eyes welfare of the government, both provincial and local, and the private sector.
The series of modules is specifically designed to target public, from elementary to high school and college students. The first collection series comprises of 12 modules. It seeks to re-live and re-highlight the Caviteño heroes’ courage in fighting Spanish rule until the declaration of the country’s independence in 1898.
Moreover, the series will focus in discussing Cavite’s historical churches and sites, history of its cities an towns, the origin of the province’s customs and traditions, and its significant role in World War II. This is in order to come up with the aim of preserving the province’ rich cultural heritage.
The CHS continuously advocates to highlight and preserve Cavite’s rich history and culture, especially to young Caviteños.
The society has engaged in various programs and published various literature since its establishment in 1977. This is to promote the Caviteños’ role in the Philippine Revolt which led to the establishment of the First Philippine Republic in 1898.
