As the province of Cavite progresses, internet service provider and telecommunications company PLDT Inc. declared that its fiber service has been improved and now reaches all major areas of Cavite province. This is part of their move to deliver a stable service given that the province is growing significant industrial and business hubs.
Over the weekend, PLDT named Cavite as Philippines’ first “Fibr-powered Smart province,” indicating the success in covering all 23 cities and municipalities.
In a statement, Oscar Reyes Jr., PLDT first vice president and head of consumer business for market development, stated “As the country’s first-ever Fibr-powered Smart province, Cavite’s residents and businesses now have access to PLDT’s robust, reliable internet and leading digital services to strengthen their connections at home and at work.”
The fiber facilities of PLDT have already stretched to 3.3 million home at the end of June this year. By the end of 2017, The telco giant anticipates its FTTH coverage expansion to reach about 4 million homes. PLDT’s capital spending for 2017 is estimated to reach P38 billion, an amount less than its initial expenditure forecast.
