Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla on May 28 confirmed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) and Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to promote the province’s earthquake readiness.
The MOAiintends to decrease the impact of the “Big One.”
The “Big One” could occur from an earthquake arising from the fault line that crosses General Mariano Alvarez, Carmona, and Silang.
Under the MOA, the scheme will cover three stages: contingency plan development, improving coordination, and advocacy linkages to other national contingency plans.
ADRA will direct Stage 1, HLA-PAC will manage Stage 2, while the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) will lead Stage 3.
