Travelers commuting via Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) would soon get free rides from the terminal to their destinations in Metro Manila.
Domingo Roque Jr., president of the Junior Chamber International Senate Philippines, announce that at least six air-conditioned buses would be retrieved starting on Feb. 14 to ferry commuters at the PITX to their particular destinations in Lawton, Manila; Baclaran, Parañaque City and in Pasay City.
The bus deployment intends to relieve the difficulty of Cavite commuters who have been crying about the lack of transportation from the PITX to different parts of Metro Manila.
Caviteños demanded it takes them at least two to three hours before they can get a ride to work and home at the PITX. They have also protested about the additional expense.
In response to the outcry, Roque, Transport Secretary Art Tugade and Megawide Corporate Foundation Inc. signed a memorandum of agreement recently to grant free bus rides at selected areas going to the PITX.
Named the “SerBus: A Service to Humanity Project,” commuters who are going to and from Lawton, Baclaran and Pasay can get free rides to PITX .
The buses would also service commuters coming from Monumento and going to EDSA, Baclaran and back.
