Further developments are seen to take place in the province of Cavite. With the unsolicited proposal to develop an international airport at Sangely point, another proposal has been submitted to the government that expresses a plan to connect expressways from CAVITEx to Sangley Point.
On July 3, the Public Works Department received a letter of intent from Cavite Holdings Inc., a tollway unit of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., to extend CAVITEx to Sangley Point. The project intends to bridge the Kawit Interchange of CAVITEx to Sangley Point in Cavite City. Via a reclaimed road and viaduct, a total of 4.63 kilometers will cover the said extension.
Aside from the CAVITEx-Sangley Point project, Metro Pacific also submitted an unsolicited proposal to build the Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway worth P25 billion. It is a 46-kilometer road that bridges CAVITEx and CALAx in Silang, Cavite, ending at Nasugbu in Batangas.
Also, another Metro Pacific project, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway that costs P35-billion, is under construction. It is designed to create a 4-lane, 47-kilometer toll way connecting CAVITEx to SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Binan, Laguna.
