An employee of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) was stabbed to death in Imus, Cavite last Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Julius Andrew Dizon and was believed to be murdered by Ronnie Libid, the victim’s house contractor.
Apart from death, the victim’s car was also taken by the offender.
According to Imus City police chief Superintendent Junar Alamo, the two parties were disputing about the unfinished construction of the house despite the victim completing the payment. The argument ended in brutality.
The victim was stabbed 50 times on the body. Dizon was rushed to the hospital and was even able to mention to his mother and the police who did the heinous crime.
The family refused to give a statement about the incident.
Trade Undersecretary Ruth Castelo condemned the act and appealed for a speedy resolution on the case to law enforcers.
“Isang buhay ang nasayang. May double masteral degree, very professional… Isa sa pinakamagagaling na personnel ng DTI,” said Castelo when asked about the victim.
DTI Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau Director Dominic Tolentino summons the suspect to surrender to authorities.
Libid will be charged with murder and carnapping.
