UPDATE — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar has disclosed that the original proponent status (OPS) letter shall soon be signed to grant the approval of the 49-km long Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas Expressway (CBTex) proposal this month.
Villar added that the DPWH is now finalizing its approval, “Pinag-uusapan na namin ‘yung CTBEx, maganda naman ‘yung design and we can expect soon, very soon”.
Although Villar refused to give a specific date, he assured that it will get its OPS within July.
After an OPS granting, this MPCALA Holdings Inc-led CBTex unsolicited proposal will be submitted to the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) for approval.
CBTEx is expected to link the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAEx) to Tagaytay City and Nasugbu, Batangas at Silang East Interchange.
Moreover, its construction is set to start by mid-2019, continuing to its projected accomplishment by mid-2020.
