City of Imus Celebrates Wagayway Festival 2018

Imus, also known as the Flag Capital of the Philippines, celebrates Wagayway Festival every May 28 in commemoration of the Battle of Alapan where various Filipinos, led by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, risked their lives against battle with Spaniards. Tagged as “wagayway” (wave in English), the historical Imus is the place where the Philippine Flag was first unfurled to signify a won battle. Through this festival, people are reminded of the pride Imus holds as a significant part of the Philippine history.
