CAVITE PROVINCE – The Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has intensified its drive against illegal gambling, arresting 108 people for its order since June.
The CPPO, under Police Regional Office (PRO)-CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Director Chief Superintendent Edward E. Carranza is currently advancing to address the province’s reduction of illegal gambling cases within Cavite.
Chief Superintendent Carranza recently challenged the region and its local police units to push forth the drive as strong as the administration’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
He further disclosed that among the arrested people were those involved in vices including character tile game (mahjong), dropped ball (carnival game), card game (tong-its) and coin game (cara y cruz).
Moreover, he also warned the public to refrain from playing the old Spanish game “saclang patay” during wakes as it is illegal.
