Hitting two birds with one stone? Our very own Jason Jabol made this possible after winning a pair of gold medals in the recent 2017 Batang Pinoy Luzon Leg organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Vigan City.
The 14–year old promising track and field athlete from Dasmariñas prevailed the young men’s century dash gold and ended up plainly the first twofold gold winner for Luzon Leg on October 24 at President Quirino Stadium.
According to reports, Jabol who is currently a Grade 9 student from Immaculate Concepcion Academy clocked 11.35 seconds to secure the 100m gold. Prior to that, he conquered the long jump competition after registering a 6.18-meter leap on his initial attempt which his opponents found difficult to match.
As expected, Jabol is delighted for what he has shown during the tournament. “Masaya po kasi nagawa ko yung best ko sa laro,” responded him when asked about his journey.
Moreover, he expressed gratitude to the people behind his success. “[Nagpapasalamat po ako] sa mga magulang ko, sa coach namin na si Fernando Dagasdas at sa lahat po ng mga sumusuporta sa akin.”
Jabol’s athletic journey only begins as he is bound to compete for the National Batang Pinoy. That being said, he surely will need support among us, Caviteños.
Congratulations, Jason Jabol! Keep on making us proud!
