One of the provincial government’s priority agenda for 2018 are the programs that aim to assist the Cavite’s senior citizens. The projects for the elderly were announced before the 635 members of Cavite’s Federation of Senior Citizen Associations by the chief of the Cavite Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office, Alvin Mojica. Mojica also serves as a consultant for the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Last December, the PSWDO held a year-end event to help enrich the lives of Cavite’s senior citizens. Attendees of this event include in-school and out-of-school youth, persons with disabilities, displaced and homeless constituents, persons in crisis among others.
Senior citizens enjoyed the day filled with fun activities, including a group dance presentation y the elders and song numbers with instrumental accompaniment. During the event, a centenarian aged 108 was rewarded with her cash gift. She danced and celebrated along with the senior citizens.
