The development of the Cavite-Batangas Expressway is envisioned to start by the first quarter of 2019, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Infrastructure conglomerate Metro Pacific Toll Group, together with DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral and Director Alex Bote, held a site inspection in Cavite area yesterday, October 4. The covered areas were Silang, Amadeo, Tagaytay, Mendez, and Alfonso.
“We are now evaluating the feasibility study before we can give our approval. We are ready to give the results of our evaluation within the year,” Cabral stated during the project briefing.

CTBex is a 49-kilometer expressway that will connect Cavite and Batangas via Tagaytay. The project will start at Silang East Interchange of Cavite-Laguna Expressway. and will cross the towns of Silang, Amadeo, Mendez, and Alfonso and Tagaytay in Cavite, and Nasugbu in Batangas.
Once completed, the P22.43-billion project would lessen the travel time from Sta. Rosa, Laguna to Nasugbu, Batangas to just an hour.
