The province of Cavite is known to be the birthplace of numerous heroes of the country. But more than being the hometown of warriors, what people do not know is that Caviteños can also be the sweetest kind of lovers. Here are 6 reasons to date a Caviteño!
1. Caviteños are brave
Kaya kang ipaglaban. We argue with a driver or collector over a lack of 2php change, or for not giving a student/senior discount. What more for someone we love? We’re not the kind who gives up easily no matter what the situation is!
2. We’d go the extra mile for you
Literally and figuratively, susuungin namin ang lahat. To go out to the Metro would cost us around 200php fare for a 2-way commute, more so if on a private ride which will cost gas and toll fees (hello Cavitex/MCX toll fee), but if that’s what it takes to spend just a few hours with our special one, then it’s worth the long (and expensive) drive.
Ulan, bagyo, high tide, low tide, traffic enforcer, oil price hike, Coastal traffic jam? Name it, we don’t mind as long as we’ll meet you at the end. ❤
3. You got the perfect balance between traditional and modern
We are “G” for road-trips and adventures with adrenaline fun, or for chill and oldies dates visiting churches or museums. We can toast with booze or just share a chit chat over coffee or tea. We can go partying with you in night clubs at the Metro and be with you in a YOLO night, but when mom texts us: “San k n?”, we gotta go, man. We have a time bomb ticking and we have a long way to go. Sana hindi traffic.
4. We’re low maintenance
No car? No problem, we are born commuters and we can ride a jam-packed ordinary bus even on standing, no complaints. Low budget? Caviteños are accustomed to the simple probinsya life so you don’t need to be fancy to make us feel loved.
5. Caviteños are patient
We’re always willing to wait. We endure long hours of being stuck in traffic and don’t mind waiting in line, so waiting for love is a piece of cake! We’ll still meet you with a refreshing smile after a test of patience.
6. We’re born fighters
Caviteños are like Kapeng Amadeo, matapang pero swabe. Mahal ang pamasahe o toll? Mas mahal ka niya! Ipaglalaban ka and will never fail to make you feel that you are worth the wait, Caviteño yan e! (Hihi) – Written by Leih Maruss Villares Sinsay
